The ongoing climate problems in Europe have resulted in the postponement of the 2022 edition of the Lech-Zürs World Cup Parallel GS races. The FIS snow control had to be delayed, and despite everyone’s best efforts and the hope that a weather miracle would save the race, it did not happen.
Because of this decision, the women have now had four consecutive competitions canceled, the first being in Solden because of a storm, followed by Zermatt-Cervinia and Lech-Zürs because of warm weather and a lack of snow. After this, the ladies will try to get their season started off well by competing in two slaloms in Levi, Finland. The competitions are planned to take place on November 19 and 20, this year.
The men were fortunate in that they were able to begin their season in Solden as planned. However, since the start of their remarkable run, there have been three cancellations in a row.
The guys are slated to get back into competition in Lake Louise, which is located in Canada, with one downhill and two Super-Gs. The 25th-27th of November has been penciled in as the dates for the Canadian series.
